An Earthly Day Of Corners In This Unsettling Phase Of The Moon

An unsettled feeling has waxed in me during this waxing crescent moon phase and shows no signs of  leaving.

Today started out fun, though. A friend emailed me that he was considering writing a piece on corners and what did I think of them.

So I sent back standard responses - my favorite coffeeshops in the corner of this street and that - backed into a corner - corner pockets in pool tables - improving is turning a corner - etc.

I have a new phone with a better camera so I set out for a park which feels other-wordly to me. I wanted to find picture opportunities to capture the alien mood. Except it wasn't there today. The sun was shining so bright that you could see manmade roads & paths that are normally invisible through the usually uninterrupted tree lines. And, of course, the bright blue shiny sky was Earthly not un-Earthly.

So I decided to take a picture of a corner for my friend instead.

It is a corner on my carport which is good for enjoying a cup of tea or coffee outdoors.

The picture got good reception on Instagram @ JAJennings1.

How long will this moon phase last? According to the Kopernik Observatory & Science center the answer is 7.38 days. According to the Farmers Almanac this moon phase is 5 days old so we have another 2.38 days.

Then we head into First Quarter. This what NASA says about that phase:

So I leave you with a song about the moon:

That's Amore by Dean Martin

And another song about corners:

Down On The Corner by Credence Clearwater Revival
